Enzymes, bioplastics and beer: Can industrial biotechnology help us tackle the land problem?

We only have one planet. And right now, our planet is confronting a number of environmental tipping points which are at least as important as the economic crisis we're in. I would argue that one of the keys to this ecological and economic crisis is how we optimise the use of, protect, conserve and restore an asset that is key to ecological resilience, human wellbeing and economic prosperity: land.
